Pillier the home architecture of Liu Jo Living 11.09.2023

The strong scenic presence makes the new Pillier a supporting pillar in the living architecture designed by Simone Cagnazzo for Liu Jo Living.

What tradition teaches to be the vertical architectural element, usually with a rectangular base, to which is attributed the function of support for further structures such as arches, lintels, and vaults, is interpreted in a contemporary key and readapted. The need to support is joined by the need to contain.

Thus, a new Pillier storage cabinet is born. Its decisive line makes it to all intents and purposes a pillar of the living area designed by Liu Jo Living.

An operational area, in which the sharing of human relations is predominant. A dimension in which to live every day with character and style. And just, here, Pillier shows itself in its essence: a striking optical effect that makes it different depending on the perspective point from which it is observed.

Pillier’s is an interplay of solids and voids that make its surface dynamic. A game that makes sense only with the presence of those who live in this house, dressing it to their personality.

Pillier is conceived in two versions: a sideboard and a cabinet defined by a pure shape, an irregular oval, embellished by the contrast of concave and convex volumes of the shaped wood, declined in the heights that characterize both pieces of furniture. The doors have a 3d cannulated processing and are available in two finishes: Canaletto walnut and charcoal ash, while the top and bottom are lacquered and shaped on the edges.

Like tectonic pillars, the reliefs that emerge from the ribbed wood further characterize Pillier’s verticality.
